GOLFING AND LIVING RIGHT

AUTHOR UNKNOWN

In 1923 eight of the world's greatest financiers met in Chicago:
1. The president of the largest Steel Company.
2. The president of the largest Gas Company.
3. The greatest wheat speculator.
4. The President of the New York Stock Exchange.
5. A member of the President's Cabinet.
6. The greatest bear expert in Wall Street.
7. Head of the world's greatest monopoly.
8. The President of the Bank of International Settlement.

These men certainly should be considered the world's most successful - at least they found the secret of making money. But what happened to these men?
1. The President of the largest independent Steel Company died a pauper. The last few years of his life he lived on borrowed money.
2. The President of the largest Gas Company went insane.
3. The greatest wheat speculator died abroad insolvent.
4. The President of the New York Stock Exchange was released from Sing Sing prison.
5. The member of the President's Cabinet was pardoned and released from prison so he could die at home.
6. The Greatest bear expert on Wall Street died a suicide.
7. Head of the world's greatest monopoly died a suicide.
8. The President of the International Settlement shot himself.

The same year, 1923, the winner of several of the most important Gold Championships, including the U.S. Open and the P.G.A. tournament was Gene Sarazen. He was strong, still played an excenllent game of golf, and was definitely solvent.

CONCLUSION: Stop worrying about your money and get out and play golf.

DON Says: These events happened many years ago but the lessons to be learned are still fresh. Forget about controlling dynasties, making the big buck, trying to rule the world. We all land up in the same place - under a beautiful tombstone, or our ashes scattered in the wind. What is the most important things in life? Love, companionship, family, caring for your neighbour, and living a truly rewarding life.
