Every alcoholic knows the serenity prayer: "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference." Another serenity prayer the old guys like me know, goes:
God grant me the senility to forget the people I never liked anyway, the good fortune to run into the ones I do like, and the good eyesight to tell the difference.
